awstats Link in Mambo Not Functional

Description
When using the Mail Report link in the Mambo wrapper, the link:
http://<redwall-server>/interface/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=36
comes up saying that:
"You don't have permission to access /awstats/awstats.pl on this server."
When I looked at the sym link under /var/www/redwall_interface/html/ - awstats was linked to a previous version of awstats - a directory which no longer exists (it was set to /usr/share/webapps/<awstats-old-version>/htdocs).
Remaking the sym link to point to the cgi-bin directory was required, and then web config work to allow the awstats.pl file to actually be executed.
Glen.
